COVID-19 UPDATE (05/15/2020):
Following Governor’s Leadership. The Town will continue to follow the leadership of the Governor. Latest updates will be posted online on our website and Facebook as they are released. Call the Reception at Town Hall for more info: 505-867-3311.
Bernalillo is an At-Risk Community. Why? We have a high elderly population and high youth population. We also have many people from surrounding communities who shop in Bernalillo - not just residents. This means more exposure to all in our community.
What About Events? Currently, all events through July 31st are cancelled. We will reassess after further orders from the Governor.
What about Camp Coronado Summer Recreation? The Town has woefully decided to cancel the Camp Coronado Summer Recreation Program this year. For information about getting a refund, please contact Jason Soto - Recreation Director - for more info at 505-238-0689.

MOVING FORWARD: WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN YOU VISIT
NO MASK means NO SERVICE! The Town is adopting a strict policy that no individuals who wish to come into Town Hall will be allowed to stay if they are not wearing an adequate face covering and to be worn properly. Wearing a face covering in public is a required directive put forth by Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham.
Appointments Only! Any individuals who wish to conduct business at Town Hall must do so by appointments only. Only the individual involved in the transaction will be permitted into the building.

The Town of Bernalillo Municipal Court will be closed temporarily to walk in traffic until further notice, after the high risk period of the Coronavirus outbreak is lifted. During this period the following procedures are in place.
Citation payments can be made at ( www.townofbernalillo.org ). For those offenders who do not have a Credit card/ Debit card, all payment deadlines will be extended 30 days from March 19, 2020. All cases that have been cited and are scheduled through the end of April are being continued. Notices have gone out to days and times, however when you receive your notice please contact the court with your name, date of birth, and phone as soon as possible, the court will be answering phone calls. At that time you will be instructed on how we will proceed with your case. MVD OFFICE IN TOWN HALL
Masks/Face Coverings Required! As directed from the State MVD Office, the Bernalillo MVD is adopting a strict policy that those wishing to have MVD services in-person must wear a mask/face covering and do so properly. Wearing a face covering in public is a required directive put forth by Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham.
Appointments Only! Appointments will be available Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:00pm. Visit mvd.newmexico.gov to make your appointment.
During Your Appointment:
- Only individuals involved in the transaction will be permitted
- No children will be allowed in the MVD area
- Mask/Face Covering must be worn during visit
- $5 Cash-Only Municipal Fee per transaction applicable

Burn Permits: For the duration of the Public Health Emergency described in Executive Order 2020-004, the Town of Bernalillo Fire/Rescue Department will issue burn permits to residents via phone, email, or fax. The fee for burn permits will be waived during this time, to reduce the possibility of transmission of the COVID-19 virus. Residents are still required to follow all regulations regarding the burning of weeds.

Trash & Recycling: All collection and operations are operating as usual.
BPS Meal Sites: BPS is offering grab-and-go breakfast and lunch to all youth under age of 18 at specific sites from 9am-10:30am. Locations in Bernalillo include ALL SCHOOL SITES, ROTARY PARK, ATHENA PARK, and BPS District Office. (Click for more info)

PNM will temporarily be suspending disconnections for non-payment.
The New Mexico Gas Company announced that no service will be disconnected for non-payment, at least through April 6.
Utiling Billing Department/Water Bill:
As the COVID-19 (coronavirus) public health emergency evolves, the Town of Bernalillo wishes to assure customers that it has contingency staffing plans in place to ensure continuity of water and sewer service.
Furthermore, the Town is taking the following steps in the interest of public health:
The Town is currently encouraging residents to contact the Utility Billing Department regarding any accounts that are past-due or in jeopardy of being disconnected. The Town will continue to support its citizens in working with them to provide water and sewer services.
