As the COVID-19 (coronavirus) public health emergency evolves, the Town of Bernalillo wishes to assure customers that it has contingency staffing plans in place to ensure continuity of water and sewer service.
Furthermore, the Town is taking the following steps in the interest of public health:
The Town is currently encouraging residents to contact the Utility Billing Department regarding any accounts that are past-due or in jeopardy of being disconnected. The Town will continue to support its citizens in working with them to provide water and sewer services.

The Town of Bernalillo Municipal Court will be closed temporarily to walk in traffic until further notice, after the high risk period of the Coronavirus outbreak is lifted. During this period the following procedures are in place.
Citation payments can be made at ( www.townofbernalillo.org ). For those offenders who do not have a Credit card/ Debit card, all payment deadlines will be extended 30 days from March 19, 2020. All cases that have been cited and are scheduled through the end of April are being continued. Notices have gone out to days and times, however when you receive your notice please contact the court with your name, date of birth, and phone as soon as possible, the court will be answering phone calls. At that time you will be instructed on how we will proceed with your case. MVD OFFICE IN TOWN HALL (Currently CLOSED)
Masks/Face Coverings Required! As directed from the State MVD Office, the Bernalillo MVD is adopting a strict policy that those wishing to have MVD services in-person must wear a mask/face covering and do so properly. Wearing a face covering in public is a required directive put forth by Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham.
Appointments Only! Appointments will be available Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:00pm. Visit mvd.newmexico.gov to make your appointment.
During Your Appointment:
- Only individuals involved in the transaction will be permitted
- No children will be allowed in the MVD area
- Mask/Face Covering must be worn during visit
- $5 Cash-Only Municipal Fee per transaction applicable
