About the Recreation Department
A shining example of the involvement of the Town with all facets of daily life is our Recreation Department. From Basketball to Soccer for the youngsters to Badminton and dancing for the senior set, it is a rare day for the Recreation Center to be unoccupied.
Jason is boasting a new swimming pool (completed in September 2005) to add to an already crowded Summer Sports program. Along with a highly active and involved Little League program, which draws from many nearby pueblo and municipal populations, his Summer Camp program attracts more and more children every year. No one is left out. For those who can't afford the "tuition" for the camp, Jason has subsidy programs to allow all who want to participate the opportunity to do so.
During the past year, and planned for the future, Karate and boxing programs have become popular. Always on the lookout for another activity, sport or idea for recreation, Jason is committed to keeping the youth and senior members of the Bernalillo community active.
