About the Bernalillo MVD Office

Everywhere except Bernalillo, people dread going to the Motor Vehicle Department. The reason people don't dread our MVD can be summed up in two words: Diane Prairie. No only does she know the process inside and out, she is pleasant and helpful, too, has years of experience and can talk to the main offices in Santa Fe for particularly sticky situations, when necessary.

This MVD experience is the reason small town reputations are what they are: warm and efficient. Rarely is the wait more than twenty to thirty minutes and the friendly atmosphere makes that time tolerable if not enjoyable. And, because we are not a contract agency, there is no additional charge for doing what we are supposed to do! We can handle all the services you'd find in near-by large cities: driver's licenses, Class D licenses, Motorcycle licenses, driving permits, identification cards, title transfers and re-registrations. Other services will be considered as we grow in numbers of customers served to include: driver's road tests, commercial operator's license proficiency and CIC checking (nationwide, computerized certificate and title searches).
