“Keep Bernalillo Beautiful”
“Keep Bernalillo Beautiful” is an initiative designed to empower residents of Bernalillo and provide opportunities to keep our community clean of weeds, trash, and expired and/or unused prescription medication.
The Town of Bernalillo hosts two “free dump days” each year on the following dates; the third (3rd) Saturday in May and the other the third (3rd) Saturday in November. In collaboration with the Sandoval County Landfill and the Public Works Department, the Town provides free dumping either at the Public Works Yard (no trailers) or at the Sandoval County Landfill (including trailers).
November 17, 2018
The "free 1/2 day" at the Sandoval County landfill is from 7:00 AM-Noon. Proof of Bernalillo residency required. Landfill requirements do not allow: refrigerators, freezers, ice makers, tires, large drums, medical waste, paint, Asbestos materials, contaminated soil, hazardous waste, batteries or railroad ties.
Dumpsters will be located at the Town of Bernalillo Public Works Yard- 585 Calle Chaparral. Hours will be 8:00 AM-4:00 PM. The same landfill requirements as above.
Through our Arbor Day event held on the last Friday in April at Rotary Park Pavilion, residents have an opportunity to purchase trees, shrubs, plants and flowers at a reduced price to plant in and around their yards to help “beautify Bernalillo”. For more information, click here.
In collaboration with the National Drug Take Back program and the Town of Bernalillo’s Police Department, the Town will host two (2) separate days each year for residents to drop off any/all unused or expired medication (no questions asked).
